FK Smederevo je nekadašnji osvajač Kupa Srbije i učesnik kvalifikacija za evropska takmičenja.
Ovaj klub se prošlu sezonu takmičio u trećem rangu fudbala u Srbiji što je dovoljan udarac za sve navijače ovog kluba. No, naredne sezone će se ovaj klub takmičiti u petoj ligi nakon što su izbačeni i najniži rang zbog namještanja utakmica.

Smederevo je izbačeno zbog namještanja utakmice protiv Mihajlovca koju su igrali na domaćem terenu. Gosti su slavili sa 4:3 i to im je bila utakmica spasa za opstanak. Ipak, ni Mihajlovac se nije izvukao jer je i ovaj klub nakon što se otkrilo namještanje izbačen u peti rang.

FK Smederevo je poznat kao klub sa jednim od najljepših stadiona u Srbiji, no trebat će mnogo, mnogo godina da ovaj tim ponovo zaigra u najjačem rangu srbijanskog fudbala.
